Panthers Look to Bounce Back.

The Panthers had a heartbreaking loss at home last week against the Carrollton Cavaliers. This was the Panthers’ first loss all season and it was during their homecoming game.

The Panthers just did not seem to be themselves. The defense was unable to stop the run like they have in previous games. It seemed like every run Carrollton had, came with at least a 5 yard pick up. This is not what the Panther fans are used to seeing. The Panther offense was not much better. They appeared to look lost the entire game. Besides a burst of energy here and there, they were unable to create much offense on the ground or air. Most of their drives stalled and they were unable to successfully move down the field.

The Panthers have another tough matchup this Friday against the Saginaw Swan Valley Vikings. The Viking are currently 6-1 and undefeated in the conference. Their only loss came to Zeeland East and that was at the beginning of the season. This will be the 18th time the Panthers and Vikings meet on the field. Saginaw Swan Valley Vikings currently hold the all time series 10-7. In the last match up, the Panthers shut out the Vikings with a score of 26-0.  Look for a much closer game this time around.

The Panthers are hungry after last week’s unsettling loss against Carrollton. The Panthers need to dig deep, overcome the adversity, and move forward. Expect a big presence from quarterback Drew Humm and running back Brec Alward. Between these two players, anything is possible.
